Malaysia MDAC for Pakistani Citizens
Flying from Karachi, Lahore, or Islamabad? Pakistani passports do not get visa-free entry to Malaysia. You need an eVisa first.
The MDAC is a separate step on top of your visa. Your passport number, your flight details, your hotel address. Takes about 5 minutes.
Pakistani names without a fixed surname can be tricky on the two-field MDAC form. We catch those problems before submission.
Pakistan to Malaysia travel snapshot
- eVisa required for all Pakistani passport holders
- Direct flights from Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad to KLIA
- Submit your MDAC within 3 days before arrival
What you need to know about MDAC
Flying from Jinnah International in Karachi, Allama Iqbal in Lahore, or Islamabad International? You have direct flight options. PIA operates daily from all three cities to KLIA. AirAsia and Batik Air also connect Karachi and Lahore. Flight time is 5 to 6 hours.
Pakistani passport holders need an eVisa before traveling to Malaysia. This is different from many other nationalities who get visa-free access. Apply for your eVisa at malaysiavisa.imi.gov.my first. Then fill the MDAC within 3 days of your flight.
Planning a family trip to Kuala Lumpur, Langkawi, or Penang? Lots of halal food options and family-friendly activities across Malaysia. You need the MDAC no matter where you go.
MDAC requirements for your trip
eVisa + MDAC needed
Pakistani travelers need both an eVisa and MDAC. The eVisa is for entry permission, the MDAC is the digital arrival card. Do not skip either step.
72-hour window
Submit your MDAC within 3 days before you arrive. The system rejects submissions that are too early. Set a reminder for 2 days before departure.
What you need ready
Your passport, eVisa reference number, flight itinerary, and hotel address in Malaysia. Have them ready before you start.
Name format catches people out
Many Pakistani travelers do not have a fixed family name. The MDAC form expects given name and family name. Enter exactly what your passport shows in both fields.

Common MDAC mistakes to watch for
Small errors cause delays at check-in or immigration. Avoid these.
- Entering your surname in the wrong field. Pakistani passports list surname first. Read carefully which field is given name and which is family name.
- No surname entered at all. If your passport shows a single name, enter it in the given name field and leave family name blank or repeat as passport shows.
- Entering the wrong last departure city. If you fly Karachi to Dubai to KL, your last departure city is Dubai, not Karachi. Get this right on the form.
- Submitting the MDAC before your eVisa is approved. The system may link to your visa records. Wait until you have your eVisa confirmation.
