Common MDAC mistakes Hungarian travelers should avoid

- Mixing up name order. Hungarian documents put family name first (Nagy Péter). The MDAC form wants given name first. Check the field labels carefully and enter your name as printed on your passport.
- Replacing special characters incorrectly. Passports show Tóth, Kovács, or Szűcs. Do not type Toth, Kovacs, or Szucs unless your passport uses the plain version.
- Submitting too early. MDAC has a strict 72-hour window. If you apply a week before your flight, it may not be accepted.
- Assuming visa-free means no MDAC needed. It does not. You need both the visa-free status and the MDAC. No MDAC means trouble at immigration.
