Malaysia MDAC for Angolan Citizens
Flying from Luanda? Angolan passports are not visa-free for Malaysia. You need an eVisa first.
The MDAC is a separate requirement on top of that. Your passport number, your flight details, your visa confirmation, your hotel address. Takes about 5 minutes.
We check your form for mistakes before submission. Portuguese names with diacritics can cause trouble on the MDAC form. And Yellow Fever? Make sure your vaccination certificate is ready. We remind you of that too.

- Fly Luanda to Doha on Qatar Airways, then to KLIA
- Yellow Fever vaccination certificate required at immigration
What you need to know about MDAC
Luanda's Quatro de Fevereiro Airport does not have direct flights to Kuala Lumpur. Most travelers fly Qatar Airways via Doha. The total trip takes about 14 hours including the layover. Ethiopian Airlines via Addis Ababa is another option.
Angolan passport holders are not on Malaysia's visa-free list. You must apply for an eVisa through the official Malaysian immigration website. The eVisa takes about 2 business days to process. The MDAC is an extra step you complete within 72 hours of arrival. Plan both well ahead.
Visiting Kuala Lumpur for business? Penang for the street food? Langkawi for the beaches? Angolan travelers need the MDAC before entering Malaysia, even when the trip continues outside Kuala Lumpur.
MDAC requirements for your trip
eVisa first, MDAC second
You need both: an eVisa to enter Malaysia and the MDAC. The eVisa takes up to 2 days. Apply for that first, then do the MDAC 72 hours before your flight.
72-hour window
Submit the Angolan traveler MDAC within 3 days of Malaysia arrival. Earlier submissions can fail.
Yellow Fever is mandatory
Angola is on Malaysia's Yellow Fever endemic list. You must show a valid vaccination certificate at immigration. Keep it with your passport.
Portuguese names need care
Angolan passports have Portuguese names with diacritics. The MDAC form accepts standard Latin script. Enter your name without accents if the form rejects special characters.

Angolan travelers should check surname order, Luanda transit routes, and hotel-address formatting.
- Forgetting the Yellow Fever certificate. Malaysia requires it for travelers from Angola. Airlines at Luanda may refuse boarding without proof.
- Using diacritics in your Portuguese name. The MDAC form may reject characters like a, a, c, e, o. Enter without accents if it fails.
- Confusing the eVisa with the MDAC. They are two separate things. The eVisa lets you enter Malaysia. The MDAC is a digital arrival card. You need both.
- Not saving your MDAC confirmation number. Airlines at Luanda may ask for proof of MDAC submission before issuing your boarding pass.
